Ken Williams is the co-founder of Omnicast Media, LLC and currently serves as Managing Partner. Omnicast Media is an on-demand audio production company that produces and distributes podcasts including the highly-ranked and extremely popular podcast “Something You Should Know”, which has listenership in the millions and is consistently ranked in the top 40 of all podcasts on iTunes/Apple Podcasts.

Ken Williams previously served as Co-President/CEO of Dial Global/Westwood One (NASDAQ: DIAL) a portfolio company of Oaktree Capital (NYSE: OAK). Dial Global/Westwood One was the largest independent national radio network and audio-based media company in the U.S., delivering engaging and fully integrated audio content to over 10,000+ radio stations and digital media companies. Dial Global/Westwood One’s powerful portfolio of iconic media, sports and entertainment brands such as CBS, NBC/Universal, The Wall Street Journal, NFL, NCAA and MTV Networks, combined with some of the most recognized live events in the world such as the Super Bowl, The Olympics, The Grammy Awards, The ACM Awards and The Masters, provided strong and unique brand engagement to over 225 million consumers each week with annual revenues of over $400 million.

In addition to corporate management responsibilities, Mr. Williams also served on the company’s Board of Directors and directly lead the company’s advertising sales, digital, marketing, account management, content partnerships and distribution operations.

Mr. Williams began his career in advertising at Ogilvy & Mather/New York in 1978, with account responsibilities that included American Express, Proctor & Gamble, General Foods, Kimberly-Clark and Hershey Foods, among others. In 1985, he became Vice President of Sales for DIR Broadcasting, a network radio syndication company specializing in live concert programming. In 1989, Mr. Williams became Vice President/Managing Director of MediaAmerica, Inc., managing the company’s advertising sales and programming operations.

In 1994, Mr. Williams founded and was Chairman of Multiverse Networks, Inc. a network radio company that developed and syndicated national radio programs such as “The Dr. Laura Schlessinger Show”, as well as providing advertising sales representation services. In 1997, Mr. Williams sold the company to Clear Channel Communications and subsequently served as Executive Vice President of Premiere Radio Networks, a subsidiary of Clear Channel.

In 2000, Mr. Williams became a partner in Dial Communications, a network radio advertising sales representation company, which he later merged with Global Media, a network radio programming and sales company to form Dial Global. In June of 2008, Dial Global purchased Jones Media, Inc., whose assets included the Jones Radio Network and MediaAmerica. In October 2011, Dial Global acquired Westwood One, Inc. another leading network radio company, forming the largest independent national radio network and audio-based media company in the U.S. In December 2013, Dial Global/Westwood One was acquired by Cumulus Media, Inc. for $260 million.

 
 
 

Mike Carruthers

Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Mike Carruthers is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Omnicast Media, LLC. The company was launched in 2016 with former Dial-Global founder and Westwood One CEO Ken Williams. They began producing the podcast “Something You Should Know” which hit the Top 50 on the iTunes podcast chart in December 2016 and has remained there ever since.

Originally, Mike began his career as a radio broadcaster and has been an on-air personality on over a dozen radio stations, primarily in Connecticut and Los Angeles including KBIG, KIQQ, KHTZ, KLSX and WEBE.

He was the creator and host of the award-winning, national radio feature “Something You Should Know” which recently concluded its multi-year run on thousands of stations after 9,470 episodes. The concept was then modified and adapted into the long form podcast of the same name.

For several years Mike was the president of Strand Media Group, Inc., which produced and distributed several radio programs and services to radio stations all over the United States. These included Backstage Country, Relevant Prep, Recollections, Rock & Roll’s Golden Memories.

In addition he has hosted and/or produced network radio programs for ABC, Westwood One, CBS and others. He has also been a voice-over talent for business clients and television programs and movie trailers.

In 1996 Mike and his brother launched LBL Financial, LLC, a successful marketing firm that helped direct response advertisers improve results by driving more and better qualified leads through national radio advertising.

In 2016 Mike formed Omnicast Media, LLC, with former Dial-Global founder and Westwood One CEO Ken Williams.
